A partnership agreement was signed on Saturday in Dakhla, relating to the impetus of tourist investment in the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab. This convention was signed by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, the wali of the region of DakhlaOued Eddahab, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar , the Director General of the Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company (SMIT), Imad Barrakad and the Director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI), Mounir Houari, during a communication meeting with tourism and tourism professionals. Its objectives are to pool efforts in order to attract quality tourism investment and act as a lever for regional development, with a view to meeting the challenge of the sustainability of tourism investments in the region, reports the MAP. The agreement also tends to simplify the interventions of the parties, taking into account the new prerogatives of the IRC and the repositioning of the SMIT within the framework of advanced regionalization. In this context, the CRI of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab undertakes, as a center of economic impetus for the region and of the territorial investment offer, to contribute with the SMIT to the implementation of the development strategy. , promotion, encouragement and incentive to tourism investment, able to constitute a database relating to tourism investment opportunities for the region. Through this agreement, it also undertakes to support the actions of the SMIT, and this by assisting tourism investors as a one-stop shop, in particular SMEs and micro-businesses, within the framework of their administrative procedures, to allow SMIT to interface its digital platform with the electronic platform dedicated to regional investment. For its part, the SMIT undertakes, as a central entity in charge of the promotion of tourism investment and tourism engineering, the search for financing resources in favor of the tourism development to be achieved, with the support of the CRI, the tourism product development strategy, the promotion of encouragement of tourist investment in the region. In this sense, the intervention of the SMIT will aim to analyze data from different sources, to carry out permanent surveys on tourism demand and to improve administrative statistics related to tourism through additions and extensions of indicators. These actions will make it possible to direct actions to promote and encourage investments towards projects with a structuring effect for the materialization of the required tourist positioning, to control the land resource and its allocation, to ensure the tourism development of natural resources. and cultural activities with high added value and to prioritize it over other less rewarding jobs and to guarantee sustainable tourism development.
